Supplies You’ll Need
- Free printable Easter gift tag file (download link below)
- Printer
- Heavy glossy cardstock (best for sturdiness)
- Scissors
- Ribbon, twine, or string
- Hole punch (or Eyelet Tool)
How to Make these Easter Gift Tags
- Download & Print
Start by downloading the free Easter gift tag PDF. Open the file and print it on your preferred paper. For a professional look, use glossy cardstock so the tags have a store-bought sheen, are sturdy, and hold up nicely. - The download included 8 gift tags and is printed on one 8.5 by 11 inch cardfstock.
- Cut out the Easter gift tags
Carefully cut around each tag using scissors. Take your time to keep edges neat. - Add a Hole for Ribbon
Use a hole punch to create a small hole at the top of each tag. If you want a more professional look, use an eyelet punch and add a silver or gold eyelet. That is what I always use, especially if I am selling my gift tags or using them for a formal occasion. - Thread with Ribbon or Twine
Cut a small piece of ribbon or twine and thread it through the hole. Tie a knot or bow to secure it. Pro Tip- Match colours with the colours on the printed tag. - Personalize Your Tags
Use pens or markers to write the recipient’s name, a special message, or even a little Easter greeting. Your tags can be as simple or as decorative as you like! Pro Tip – Use double-sided glossy cardstock, a permanent marker and add a special message to the back of the card. - Attach to Your Gift
Loop your finished tag around a basket handle, tie it onto a chocolate gift, or attach it to any Easter treat. Voilà! Your gift is now extra special!

Tips for Success
Ways to Use These Easter Gift Tags
These tags are perfect for:
- Easter baskets
- Homemade baked goods
- Chocolate treats
- Gift bags
- Classroom gifts
- Party favors
- Springtime hostess gifts
They also work beautifully attached to mason jars, treat boxes, or cellophane candy bags.

What type of paper works best?
Cardstock is usually the best choice because it is thicker and more durable than regular printer paper. It helps the tags hold their shape and makes them look more like store-bought tags.
However, you can also use:
- Matte photo paper for a crisp, vibrant look
- Kraft paper for a rustic farmhouse style
- Glossy cardstock for a polished finish (my go choice choice)
- Regular printer paper if you plan to glue the tag onto thicker paper afterward
Is this a kid-friendly craft?
Absolutely! This is a great kid-friendly craft. Children can help cut out the tags, decorate them with stickers, or write names on them. It’s a fun activity while preparing Easter baskets together.
Enbelishment ideas
For a customized personal touch, you can add embellishments. Some ideas include:
- Stickers
- Glitter glue
- Washi tape
- Small stamps and ink
- Adhesive gems or rhinestones
