How to Make Halloween Chip Bags

Before you start, you will need to download the free printable Halloween Chip Bags designs. Click on the link or go to the resource library and check out all the other freebies we have.
- Print the Designs. Before printing, for best results, change your printer settings to entire page or borderless, so you don’t have to trim the paper. Choose High Quality or Best Quality, and choose Photo Paper or Specialty paper- Glossy.

- Fold the chip bag so that the back seam is slightly overlapping and the design on the front is centred. Press to create creases and then unfold.
- Run a line of tape along the inside of the top edge and the bottom edge. Add another line of tape along one of the sides of the back seam.

- If you are making your bags reusable, place the plastic zipper bag in the center of the bag. Line up the top edge of the bag with the top edge of the paper and press onto the tape line.

- Fold over the sides and press the back seam and bottom seam.

- Using your paper crimper, crimp the top and bottom of the bag. Be careful not to crimp too far down on the top of the bag. Some zipper bags have a thick zipper and can separate the crimper rolls.

- Unzip the bag and fill with chips, candy or desired snack items.

Helpful Tips
Troubleshooting Borders
If you are printing and choosing to fill the page or scale 100% but still get a border, there may be an option on your printer and paper size that allows you to also choose borderless. Some printers, such as HP, have another option to select borderless. (image below) Printers vary in their menus but I recommend checking the paper size selection as well.

Other Types of Paper
The best paper is thin photo or brochure paper. For the best result, the paper should weigh between 27 and 37 pounds. A glossy paper looks more vibrant than a matte paper. Using regular printer paper will work, but the colour will be dull.
Making these Halloween Chip Bags without the Liner.
If you don’t want to make these chip bags resealable, just follow the same steps but omit the insertion of the zipper bag. If you are not using a liner, make sure your paper of choice is non-toxic or insert the treats in their packaging.
Making the bags Hangable
If you are hosting a fundraiser and need the bags to hang on display hooks, use a standard single-hole punch and punch a hole in the center of the top crimped border. If you are having difficulty getting the hole to go through the layers, use a leather hole punch.
I hope you love these free printable Halloween Chip Bags. All of our designs are free and for personal use only.
